Please allow me to introduce myself...

ex·pert (n.)
A person with a high degree of skill in or knowledge of a certain subject.

The 2005-06 NFL season is rapidly approaching, and this year, I gloss myself an NFL "Expert." Why? Well for starters, as per the definition above (courtesy of dictionary.com), I possess a high degree of knowledge of the NFL. You would too if your weekend schedule from September through January revolved around sitting in the recliner with two games on TV and the laptop locked in on the CBS Sportsline NFL scoreboard page. In addition, my weekdays are spent reading and even writing about the NFL. And, for the last few years, I've picked winners of every NFL game, and for the record,
this "Expert" smoked the so-called experts from major outlets like ESPN and CNN-Si for the 2004-05 season:

Expert W-L (Pct)
1. Ant 170-86 (.664)
2. Salisbury, ESPN 164-92 (.641)
3. Golic, ESPN 163-93 (.637)
4. Jaworski, ESPN 162-94 (.633)
5. Mortensen, ESPN 157-99 (.613)
5. King, CNN-Si 157-99 (.613)
7. Hoge, ESPN 156-100 (.609)
8. Allen, ESPN 155-101 (.605)
9. Theismann, ESPN 143-95 (.601)
10. Schlereth, ESPN 152-104 (.594)

The prosecution rests.

But I don't want to argue about semantics. I just want to let you know what to expect from this page. In the coming weeks, I will publish the annual season preview, complete with team-by-team analysis, division and conference winners, individual award winners, and of course, my Super Bowl XXXIX champion.

Then each week, I will pick the games, both straight up and against the spread (137-119 in 2004-05), and tell you why I'm thinking the way I am. You can use the information as you see fit, however it is intended for entertainment purposes only. There will also be some candid, off-the-cuff commentary as warranted.

So there it is. Now that Ant's "Expert" NFL Page has been established, all you have to do is read and enjoy.
